6th Annual Alexander City Rodeo

benefiting Tallapooosa County’s Relay for Life.  Come be a part of the most fun you’ll have this spring!  Watch the children chase the pigs; watch the adults vie for the ‘buckle’.  Over 4,500 in attendance last year and over 200 participants! Horseshoe Bend National Military Park,
198th Anniversary of the Battle of Horseshoe Bend.
  Experience live cannon fire, the lives of Creek and Cherokee Indians, hunting camps and demonstrations of traditional skills of the early 1800’s.  Learn the importance of this battle in United States history.  This annual one-day event free to the public.  256.234.7111

Derby Day At The Stables at Russell Crossroads     Ladies bring out your hats and guys dig out your seersucker for Derby Day at the Stables. This annual event is a fund raiser for Children’s Harbor on Lake Martin. Just us for a lot of fun as we cheer on our favorite horses during the “Run For The Roses” and some great Blue Grass Music. Tour of Homes

Friends of Children's Harbor offer you the opportunity to tour the beautiful homes in The Ridge on Lake Martin, a Russell Lands neighborhood, as four homeowners open their doors to help raise funds for Children's Harbor. $25 advance tickets and $30 day of the tour. 10am to 3pm.

Art on the Lake

Free. Children's Harbor Mariners' Adventure Camp. More than 50 artists from the Southeast display and sell their art, pottery and jewelry. Silent auction and children's art all day. 10am to 5pm.

Grab your lawn chairs or blanket and coolers and join Russell Lands On Lake Martin on the lawn at The Amp as the summer concert series kicks off! In the past we have started the season with groups like Kansas, Marshall Tucker, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, Blackberry Smoke, Tonic and others. Keep an eye on facebook (Lake Martin Amphitheater) and www.lmat.org for the entertainment line up, ticket prices, time of show, etc.

Join us for Lake Martin 's biggest musical event of the year! The 22nd Annual Alexander City Jazz Festival is scheduled for June 8th and 9th. The free two-day event will be held at Strand Park downtown Alexander City on Friday night and Lake Martin Amphitheater on Saturday.

Decorate your boat and join the patriot crowd at Kowaliga Marina as boats of all sizes, shapes and decoration will "parade" from Kowaliga Marina to Children's Harbor circling just past the lighthouse, and then will make the return trip to the Kowaliga Marina. Spectators line the shoreline along the parade route to applaud their favorite patriotically decorated boats and contestants.  Registered boats will be vying for top honors for the Largest Flag, Tallest Flag, Most Patriotic, and Most Creative.

On the evening of the 4th join us on the lawn at The Amp. Find your spot on the soft grass and soon the earth will shake and the sky over Russell Lands On Lake Martin will be illuminated with a thousand different colors. 2012 will mark 12 years that Russell Lands, Inc. has hosted the Southeast’s Largest Fireworks Show over Lake Martin. The gates to The Amp on the 4th normally open at 5:00. In 2011 the concert featured Martha’s Trouble and Nationwide Coverage and the highlight of the night, the fireworks show begins at 9:00.

Muster on the Tallapoosa, 13th Annual

This event, the first in a series of Creek War bicentennial programs sponsored by Horseshoe Bend NMP, will focus on the year 1811. Guest speakers discuss the events of 1811 that had a major impact on the Creek War. Labor Day Concert
The summer concert series at The Amp comes to a dramatic close as concert goers of all ages gather at The Amp for the final event of the year. The Amp has hosted quality entertainers like Sister Hazel, Trotline, The Hogg Mountain Lugg Nuts, Shooter Jennings, Corey Smith and others for the unofficial end to the summer. Lake Martin Renew Our Rivers

This is an annual event jointly sponsored by LMRA and Alabama Power to remove trash and debris from Lake Martin. Volunteers are needed. Areas of the lake to be cleaned will be determined at a later date. For more information contact John Thompson at john.thompson@hcsinc.net

The kids and grandkids will have a great time at the 3rd annual Fall Family Festival at Russell Crossroads. Do-si-do at The Stables At Russell Crossroads
The date for this event has not been set yet, but it will be soon on the interactive calendar at www.RussellLandsOnLakeMartin.com. In previous years we all dressed in western wear and gathered at The Stables At Russell Crossroads for a Wild West Show, Pony Rides for the kids, Mule Patty Bingo, refreshments, just a lot of fun for all.
